Several companies, including chains such as Jysk and Mio, risk fines of up to two million kronor if they do not improve. This is announced by the Consumer Agency, which has conducted a follow-up of its review of how companies behaved during the autumn sales.

In total, six companies are involved.

"What the six companies have in common is that they claimed to have reduced prices without correctly stating the lowest price at which the item was sold during the last 30 days," writes the Consumer Agency in a press release.

According to the authority, this misleads the consumer.

"The problem is that as a consumer, you think you're getting a bargain, while in reality the item never cost as much as it says," says Pär Magnusson, a lawyer at the Consumer Ombudsman, in a press release.

The companies can appeal the injunction from the Consumer Agency. If so, it will end up with the Patent and Market Court.
