The two-time major winner Jon Rahm is withdrawing from this year's third major, the US Open, which begins on Thursday.
The former world number one has an infected wound on his foot and therefore cannot participate in the competition.
"I have decided that the best thing for my long-term health is to withdraw from this week's US Open. To say I'm disappointed is an enormous understatement," writes the former world number one on his social media.
Rahm withdrew from the LIV tournament in Houston last week, and explained at a press conference earlier today that the problem persists and that he was forced to take painkillers over the weekend.
I'm not quite sure how it happened or what's happened, but it's infected. The pain was bad. During Saturday's round last weekend, I had to take an injection to numb the entire area. It would have helped me throughout the round, but already on the second hole, it started hurting again, he said at a press conference on Tuesday.
Jon Rahm has slipped down the rankings since moving to the LIV tour, and has therefore not earned any ranking points since then. The Spaniard is now ranked eighth in the world.
