The series winner, Lejonen, took hold of the SM final through a win on away ground over last year's winner Dackarna (47–43).
And behind the win was, of course, Bartosz Zmarzlik, the Pole who secured the World Championship title on Saturday. He scored 14 points out of 15 possible during the evening in Målilla.
The Gislaved team started the first final with a five-one. The home team never managed to catch up, although they had a level score at a couple of occasions.
The return match will be held next week in Gislaved.
