Malmö scoreless for the second match in a row

The series superior Malmö FF was shut out for the second match in a row in Allsvenskan. GAIS had two goals disallowed for offside – one of which was highly questionable – and the match ended 0–0.

We should have brought more with us. We are close, it's two goals that go in, but unfortunately, it's offside, says Gais captain August Wängberg to Max about the fact that it only became one point.

After the discharge and the drubbing in the top meeting with Djurgården, 4–0, on September 1, MFF has gone goalless from two straight Allsvenskan matches.

On Sunday, it became 0–0 against AIK in Solna and on Wednesday, the same result away against Gais.

MFF still leads the Allsvenskan with a ten-point margin to second-place Hammarby, one match less played, and eleven to third-place Djurgården, which has two matches less played.

So, there is no danger on the roof yet.

But it was close to MFF becoming point-less in Göteborg.

Both Mervan Celik and Chovanie Shakur Amatkarijo scored a goal each, but both were ruled out for offside.

Celik's goal in the ninth minute was blown off, very questionably, according to the TV replays. On the other hand, Amatkarijo was clearly offside on added time.

Mervan Celik also nodded outside in a giant opportunity, and neither did Alexander Ahl Holmström manage to hit the goal in a free situation during the first half.

It was Gais who created the hot opportunities, Malmö was toothless.

MFF had a really good opportunity at the beginning of the second half when Gais defender Axel Norén steered up Pontus Jansson's header into his own crossbar.

But there were no MFF goals this time either.

We came here to win and it's clear that we are disappointed when we only get one point. We must work to become better, it has been two tough away matches, says Malmö midfielder Oliver Berg.
