Several technology companies, listed on Nasdaq, had a sunny stock market day. The semiconductor company Nvidia rose by 8 percent. Industry colleagues AMD and Intel went in the same direction and increased by 4.9 and 3.6 percent, respectively.

Among today's losers were several American airlines. Southwest Airlines fell by 1.5 percent, while American Airlines landed at 1.9 percent.

During the day, it became clear that inflation in the US fell to 2.5 percent in August, which was in line with the average forecast according to Bloomberg's compilation.
