It started burning at an inn in Borgafjäll in Dorotea municipality on Wednesday morning. After hours of firefighting, the rescue service confirmed that the house could not be saved.
It has taken off now, more or less the entire property is affected by the fire, said Jörgen Eriksson, duty officer at the rescue service, to VK.
By lunchtime on Wednesday, the rescue service's resources, from three different stations, were still on site.
They are working to contain the spread and secure surrounding buildings so that the house can burn down in a controlled manner, announced an operator at the rescue service.
The police report that the fire started in the basement.
There is no information about any personal injuries.
