Container giant Maersk, part of the Danish shipping company AP Møller-Mærsk, is warning of "significant delays" in ship traffic.
Queue formation at terminals in the Mediterranean and Asian ports is pointed out as the cause in a message to Maersk's customers.
According to freight forwarders, the queue formation has led to extended waiting times in various ports, which has affected Maersk's ability to meet planned delivery times.
