Tennis star Andy Murray is ending his career after the upcoming Summer Olympics in Paris.

"I've arrived in Paris for my very last tennis tournament", he writes on X.

The three-time Grand Slam winner and two-time Olympic champion has for several years been close to having to end his career due to injuries and operations. During the past year, he has played more doubles to prolong his career. After the Olympic tournament on the Roland Garros clay court outside Paris, it will be over.

"Competing for Great Britain has overwhelmingly been the most memorable weeks of my career. I'm extremely proud to get to do it one last time", writes the 37-year-old Scot on X.

Murray made his Olympic debut in Beijing 2008 and is ending his career with his fifth Olympics. He won the men's singles on Wimbledon's grass outside London in 2012 and on hardcourt outside Rio de Janeiro in 2016. He also has a silver in mixed doubles with Laura Robson from the London Olympics.

The Olympic tennis begins on Saturday and the schedule for the different tournaments is not set. What is clear is that Murray will play in the men's doubles with Englishman Dan Evans.
