Hezbollah's leader vows revenge after explosions

The enemy has crossed all red lines, says Hezbollah's leader Hassan Nasrallah in a speech that for the first time comments on the recent events in Lebanon. At the same time on Thursday, Israel attacked hundreds of targets in southern Lebanon, according to Israel's military.

Israel will face "tough retaliation and just punishment" on both expected and unexpected fronts, Nasrallah threatens in the pre-recorded speech shown on Thursday afternoon.

At least 37 people were killed and around 3,000 people injured when thousands of people-seekers in mainly Lebanon exploded on Tuesday, followed by a similar act on Wednesday when walkie-talkies exploded. The communication units were carried by people with ties to the Iran-backed Shia militia.

The explosions can be interpreted as a declaration of war, according to the Hezbollah leader, who often uses escalated rhetoric in his video speeches.

"Hard blow"

Tuesday and Wednesday were for us difficult, bloody days, he says, and simultaneously admits that the militia "received a hard blow".

Nasrallah says, however, that Hezbollah's operational readiness has not been affected. According to Nasrallah, no leading Hezbollah members carried people-seekers of the newer model that were the subject of the explosions.

Israel has not officially taken responsibility for the acts, but Hezbollah accuses its archenemy of being behind them. Hezbollah also threatens that Israel will not be able to return its inhabitants to the country's northern parts, which most inhabitants have fled due to the regular clashes between Hezbollah and Israel.

New attacks

The Lebanese resistance will not cease until Israel's aggression in Gaza ceases, says Nasrallah and emphasizes that it applies "regardless of the consequences" it entails.

The battles can continue throughout the year, according to the militia leader.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, Israel has launched many new attacks on several locations in southern Lebanon, reports the Israeli military. Hundreds of launch ramps and "terror infrastructure" have been hit, in addition to a weapons depot, according to the military. Israel's Defense Minister Yoav Gallant promises that military actions against Hezbollah will continue.

Hezbollah, in turn, has announced that it attacked several military targets in northern Israel with rockets and drones during the day.

According to Israel, two Israeli soldiers were killed in the country's northern parts on Thursday.
