The Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah was 18 meters underground in a bunker in southern Beirut when he was killed on Friday, according to several sources. In the attack, several of the Lebanese Islamist movement's highest leaders were killed.
On Friday evening, the working-class neighborhoods above were shaken by approximately 80 tons of bombs that were triggered in a series of timed explosions, according to an Israeli military source, as reported by The Wall Street Journal.
The planning of the attack had been going on for several months.
