New allegations against Mette-Marit's son

Marius Borg Høiby is suspected of having exercised violence against two previous girlfriends as well. The Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit's son admitted to assault against his current partner last week.

Marius Borg Høiby and two of his former girlfriends will be questioned this week about the new allegations. The police do not want to comment before the questioning has taken place, but one of the women's lawyers states that in his client's case, it concerns violence in a close relationship.

There are two reasons why she wants to talk to the police. Partly, she wants to tell her story, partly, she wants to contribute to it not happening again, says lawyer Petter J Grødem to NRK.

None of the women have reported Borg Høiby, but both have accused him of violence on social media.

It is the police who have filed a report after an Instagram post, says Grødem.

Marius Borg Høiby was arrested earlier in August, suspected of vandalism and "bodily harm" against his current girlfriend on the night of August 4. He has confessed and said last week that he wants to take responsibility for his actions.

He then told NRK that he had used alcohol and cocaine on the occasion.

"I have several mental health issues that I have had throughout my upbringing and into adulthood. I have struggled with addiction for a longer period, something I have received treatment for previously", he said.

Marius Borg Høiby has no royal title and has chosen to live his life outside the spotlight. King Harald has stated to Aftenposten that Marius is part of the royal family, but not the royal household.

His father is Morten Borg, with whom Crown Princess Mette-Marit lived together before she became involved with Crown Prince Haakon.
