Israel attacked new targets in Lebanon's capital Beirut on Wednesday evening. Six residential buildings are reported to have been leveled to the ground.

The Israeli military urged the civilian population in the southern suburbs of Beirut to evacuate immediately during the evening.

Shortly afterwards, Lebanese media reported that four violent explosions completely destroyed a residential complex near the suburb of Laylaki.

In total, 17 different attacks were carried out, according to Lebanon's national news agency NNA. Six residential buildings and premises of the pro-Iranian Lebanese news agency al-Mayadeen were destroyed.

Images show how a large explosion was followed by several smaller ones in the southern suburbs, which, according to NNA, experienced the most violent evening since Israel launched its attacks at the end of September.

Israel claims to have targeted locations belonging to Iran-backed Hezbollah, which fired 135 projectiles at Israel during the day, according to the Israeli military.

Lebanese media had earlier reported on drone attacks against several city districts during the evening, without warning. At least one residential building was hit then.
