A woman and her three daughters, 7, 14, and 21 years old, are reported to have been killed in the Russian attack. Only the father in the family survived, writes The Kyiv Independent.
Three more people were killed and over 50 are injured. For several of them, the situation is critical, according to local authorities. There are also several children among the injured.
The attacks occurred the day after Tuesday's bloody Russian robot attack on the city of Poltava, where over 50 people were killed and hundreds were injured.
Hypersonic Robot
President Volodymyr Zelensky condemns what he calls "Russian terrorist attacks" in Lviv and appeals once again for more support from the West, reports AFP.
Several residential buildings in Lviv were hit in the morning by incoming projectiles. According to local authorities, around 50 houses were completely or partially destroyed in the attack, which is said to have been carried out using drones and a hypersonic robot of the Russian-developed type Kinzhal.
The Defense Department in Moscow claims that the attack was directed against "military facilities", reports Russian state media.
Photos show bloody people being led out of a four-story building whose roof has collapsed. On other photos, lifeless people are being carried out of destroyed building bodies on stretchers.
Polish Air Defense
Earlier in the morning, air raid sirens were heard across Ukraine.
Energy facilities in six different regions are said to have been hit in the attacks, and in the president's hometown of Kryvyj Rih in central Ukraine, several people are reported to have been injured.
The worst-hit Lviv is not far from the border with NATO country Poland, which reports that its air defense was activated during the night. It is the third time in just over a week that this has happened.
"Another very intense night for the entire air defense system in Poland, due to the observed activity of air traffic from the Russian Federation", writes the Polish operational command on X.
