The airline SAS is cancelling almost all departures between Visby and the mainland during November and December, reports P4 Gotland.

The reason is that SAS has a shortage of aircraft, says Gunnar Jonasson, manager at Visby Airport, to P4.

On Wednesday, it became known that SAS is cancelling flights on three routes to and from Stockholm during the last two months of the year. The affected airports are Sundsvall-Timrå, Ronneby, and Ängelholm.

The reason is that a shortage of aircraft has arisen when the airline Bra and SAS have merged.

The company Xfly, which operates the flights on behalf of SAS, is using a clause in the agreement that means they will stop flying already in November. This means that SAS will have a shortage of aircraft until the turn of the year when Bra takes over the traffic, according to SVT News Västernorrland.

According to SAS, no more routes will be affected by the shortage of aircraft.
