Employment in the USA increased by only 12,000 jobs, excluding the agricultural sector, in October, according to new figures from the labor market department.
This is the lowest increase in almost four years, since Joe Biden became president, writes Financial Times.
Economists had on average expected 100,000 new jobs, according to Bloomberg's compilation.
The unemployment rate was unchanged at 4.1 percent, which was in line with expectations. At the same time, the September figure is revised down to 223,000 new jobs.
Hurricanes and the Boeing strike are said to have negatively affected the job figure.
