The red-green government in Stockholm will raise the tax in Stockholm municipality next year, writes an article in Aftonbladet.

According to the Social Democrats, the Green Party, and the Left Party, the increase will be 24 öre per hundralapp. A family with an income of 600,000 kronor per year will, according to the proposal, get 74 kronor more in tax per month.

"This is not an easy decision, but it is necessary", write the parties.

S, MP, and V mean that the increase is necessary to be able to strengthen the welfare and also environmental work.

"When the government and the Sweden Democrats prioritize tax cuts for those who earn the most, we put the money where it really makes a difference", write the parties further.

According to the Moderate Party, Stockholm now has its highest municipal tax since 1998.

"This is not taking responsibility for Stockholm but sending the bill to the Stockholm residents", writes opposition deputy mayor Christofer Fjellner in a comment.
