A man who was arrested on suspicion of murder of a woman in Gränna during the Midsummer weekend has been released since the suspicions against him have weakened significantly, report local media.

The forensic pathologist has not been able to establish the cause of death. Currently, it suggests that she died of natural causes, says prosecutor Johanna Nyström to SVT Jönköping.

The preliminary investigation is not closed, but they are now waiting for the results from forensic medicine.

On June 24, a woman in her 60s was found dead in a residence in Gränna after an alarm was received about an illness. Circumstances led the police and prosecutor to suspect that a crime may have been committed, whereupon a man close to the woman was arrested and detained on suspicion of murder.
