The 18-year-old's new success: "Hard to take in"

He scored his first SHL goal just a few days ago. In the derby against Luleå, Oskar Vuollet scored three more. It's hard to take in, says Skellefteå's 18-year-old hockey talent.

Vuollet scored a goal when Skellefteå's J20 team won the SM gold last season. It gave him a few matches with the A-team, but then he didn't quite get it.

It's different now.

Last Thursday, he scored his first SHL goal, in the 4–0 win against Växjö. In the derby away against top rival Luleå, he took it to the next level and scored a hat-trick. The three goals were behind Skellefteå's turnaround from 0–2 to a 5–2 win.

It's hard to take in. It feels good, it does, says Oskar Vuollet to TV4 Play.

Extra impressive since the 18-year-old was in the match squad as an extra forward. Not until well into the first period did he get to feel the ice, and then it didn't take long before he had found the net with a backhand.

It's awesome, anyway. He's our 13th forward today. He probably won't be that on Thursday, says Skellefteå's coach Robert Ohlsson to TV4 Play regarding the next match, at home against Leksand.

Ohlsson praises his young talent and hints that Vuollet, just like against Luleå, will continue to share a line with the experienced brothers Jonathan and Andreas Johnson.

He has the craft of ice hockey. He has fantastic balance, a great goal-scorer and a super shot. Then he can make that decisive pass too. An offensive, irrational forward. He's a future player for Skellefteå AIK for many years, says Ohlsson.

After five rounds, Skellefteå is second in the table, one point behind Färjestad, which on Tuesday defeated Brynäs 2–1 after penalties. Luleå is third, three points behind Skellefteå.
