The Government is raising the threshold for state income tax in 2025, reports Ekot.

Today, income tax is paid by individuals earning over 51,275 kronor per month, but that threshold will be raised to 53,590.

The threshold is usually adjusted upwards every year, but the Tidö parties chose to put it on hold last year due to inflation.

But it was temporary. It was a special year, high inflation and high adjustment, says Elisabeth Svantesson, to Ekot.

The adjustment will cost around six billion kronor in 2025, according to information from the Ministry of Finance. However, it is not included in the reform space of 60 billion.

The Left Party is critical of the increase and believes that the proportion of people paying the tax is too low.

A tax cut for high-income earners, once again, even though it was paused for a year, says Ida Gabrielsson, economic policy spokesperson for the party, to the radio.
