The Joyful News – Hurtig Ready: "Means a Lot"

Lina Hurtig is back. After nearly a year's absence, she can make her comeback in Arsenal's Champions League match against Vålerengen on Wednesday. She has worked hard for a very long time, says Arsenal's interim head coach Renée Slegers.

Hurtig's latest effort on the football pitch was a brief substitute appearance in Sweden's Nations League match against Switzerland on December 1 last year. After that, the forward suffered an injury and in April, her club Arsenal announced that she would miss the rest of the season for personal reasons.

But now the 29-year-old seems ready for a comeback. Hurtig is included in Arsenal's squad for Wednesday's Champions League match at home against Norwegian Vålerengen.

Lina Hurtig is back in the squad, which is very positive news. She has worked hard for a very long time, says Arsenal's head coach Renée Slegers at the press conference ahead of the match.

Slegers has temporarily taken over as head coach after Swede Jonas Eidevall left the coaching job on Tuesday following a weak start to the season for Arsenal. Slegers is delighted to have Hurtig back in the team.

She is a player with very good, specific qualities that can undoubtedly help our team. And of course, it means a lot for her personally to be back after a long period off the pitch, says Slegers.

She has been training for a while now, but we feel that the right moment (for her comeback) is approaching. She is ready.
