Previously, it was reported that tennis star Andy Murray would miss this year's Wimbledon due to injury.

Now his mother, Judy Murray, is speaking out – and claims that nothing is certain yet.

On Sunday, the British newspaper The Telegraph reported that Andy Murray had undergone a back operation and would therefore miss this year's Wimbledon tournament. Shortly afterwards, the ATP tour "confirmed" the news by posting on social media. A post that they shortly afterwards deleted.

"After a back operation, Andy Murray will unfortunately miss Wimbledon. Take a good rest now and focus on recovery, Andy. We will miss having you there," they wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Despite this, it is not entirely ruled out that Murray, who has won Wimbledon on two occasions (2013 and 2016), will actually participate. Following speculation about the 37-year-old's presence or absence at the Grand Slam tournament, his mother, Judy Murray, chose to respond.

On X, she wrote:

"When your private medical information is leaked to the media by someone you thought you could trust. So tiresome. And – for your information – nothing is certain yet."

Murray is currently ranked 115th in the world and has previously hinted that he may end his career after either Wimbledon or the Olympic Games.
