The rain poured down on Sunday.

The hardest hit areas appear to be Hagshult in Småland and Mariestad by Lake Vänern, with 37 millimeters of rain, according to preliminary figures.

Despite earlier yellow and orange warnings in several parts of the country, no area reached the feared amounts of rain.

During the day, we saw that the intensity was lower than what the models showed, so we cancelled the warnings before they were due to take effect, says Marie Staerk, meteorologist at SMHI.

There were also warnings for thunderstorms – which did not materialize as expected.

Helsingborg received 33 millimeters of rain. The rain led, among other things, to a car getting stuck in a flood under a railway viaduct. No one is reported to have been injured.

Ängelholm was also hit by the heavy rain, with large amounts of rain on Kungsgårdsleden. Water also flooded into the ice rink Catena Arena.

In Svealand, the most rain fell in Berga, with 22 millimeters.
