The President of the USA, Joe Biden, is not being treated for Parkinson's disease. This was repeated by the White House during a press conference on Monday after questions from journalists.

Has the President been treated for Parkinson's? No. Is he being treated for Parkinson's? No, he is not. Is he taking medication for Parkinson's? No.

This was said by the White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre during a somewhat intense question-and-answer session with journalists on Monday.

Biden has met a neurologist three times, but each visit has been part of the President's annual health checks, said Jean-Pierre in response to a journalist's question.

She then cited the journal from the President's latest health check, which he underwent in February, written by Biden's doctor Kevin O'Connor, which has previously been made public.

"An extremely detailed neurological examination again provided reassuring answers", wrote O'Connor in the document and concluded that there are no signs of neurological diseases or motor weakness.

American media have reported in recent days that a doctor specializing in Parkinson's disease has visited the White House on multiple occasions, according to visitor logs.

However, most of the specialist doctor's visits have taken place within his role in the White House medical unit, which treats thousands of government employees, not least military personnel, writes O'Connor in a fresh statement published by the White House during the night.

"President Biden has not met a neurologist outside of his annual health check," writes O'Connor.
