Local politician Kristofer Lundberg was expelled from The Left Party. Now he says he is starting a new party – with the aim set on the 2026 election, reports Flamman.
It was a week ago that The Left Party announced that Lundberg, the party's chairman in Angered, was expelled from the party. The background is that he expressed support for the terrorist-classified Palestinian PFLP (People's Front for the Liberation of Palestine) which has been pointed out as involved in Hamas' terrorist attacks against Israel on October 7.
Now he announces that he is starting a new party that will challenge The Left Party for left-wing voters. The Palestine issue will be central and the goal is to get into the Riksdag in 2026.
It is obvious that a left-wing alternative is needed when The Left Party so drastically backs away from several fundamental political stances. There is widespread criticism of The Left Party, says Kristofer Lundberg to Aftonbladet.
He further says that he stands firm in his support for PFLP.
For Flamman, he states that the new party has agreed on cooperation with Solidarity, another newly launched party on the left wing started by a former and an expelled left-wing politician.
