Trump: Israel will cease to exist if Harris wins

Kamala Harris promises Israel continued support if she becomes the President of the USA. Donald Trump, on the other hand, claims that his opponent "hates Israel". Outside the debate arena in Philadelphia, pro-Palestinian demonstrators gathered with demands for a ceasefire.

The war between Israel and Hamas was one of the most highlighted issues in the debate. However, neither Harris nor Trump provided any straight answers on how they would stop the bloodshed and free the hostages if they win the election.

The Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris reiterated her previous stance: that she supports Israel's right to self-defense, but that "far too many" innocent Palestinians have been killed and that she and President Joe Biden are working around the clock to achieve a ceasefire.

But we must achieve a two-state solution where we can rebuild Gaza, where Palestinians can get security, self-determination, and the dignity they deserve, she said.

When asked how Republican Donald Trump would negotiate with Israel's leader Benjamin Netanyahu and Hamas to free the hostages from Gaza – and prevent the killing of more innocent civilians – the former president responded by attacking his debate opponent.

She hates Israel. If she becomes president, Israel will not exist in two years, he claimed about Harris.

Trump also claimed that Harris "hates Arabs" and stated – as he has also done about the war in Ukraine – that the conflict would never have broken out if he had been president.

Look what's happening in the Middle East. It would never have happened. I'll fix it, and I'll do it quickly.
