One of the world's most active volcano groups, Kilauea on the Hawaiian island group, has had a new eruption.
A first sign of volcanic activity was registered over the weekend, followed by new eruptions that intensified on Tuesday.
The volcano is located in a national park, and no residential areas were considered directly threatened by the volcanic activity.
The eruptions are measured by the US Geological Survey (USGS), which was able to register and take pictures of the shield volcano at an altitude of 1,250 meters above sea level during a helicopter overflight on Tuesday.
The national park is also home to the neighboring volcano Mauna Loa. The current eruption site is located one mile from the nearest road, making tourist visits rare at the crater.
