After the announcement that the Chinese car manufacturer BYD will establish an electric car factory in Turkey, the country now wants to attract more Chinese investors.
"Chinese producers want quick access to international markets. Investing in Turkey offers them that," said Turkey's Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacir to the TV company Haberturk.
Recently, it was announced that the EU will impose tariffs of up to 38 percent on imports of electric cars from China.
It was on Monday that the Chinese electric car giant signed a million deal with Ankara to open a factory in western Turkey, which is expected to create 5,000 new jobs.
Now, at least five other Chinese car manufacturers are considering opening factories in Turkey, according to the state news agency Anadolu.
