Swedish star goalkeeper Linus Ullmark signed a four-year extension with his new NHL club Ottawa on Wednesday.
The new contract is worth nearly 33 million dollars, equivalent to nearly 343 million kronor.
It's a surreal feeling, says Ullmark according to nhl.com.
The 31-year-old was traded to Ottawa from Boston last summer. In exchange, Boston received Finnish goalkeeper Joonas Korpisalo, center Mark Kastelic, and Ottawa's 25th pick in the first round of the summer draft.
Ullmark had one season left on his previous four-year contract, which he signed with Boston in 2021, worth 20 million dollars.
In 2023, he was awarded the Vezina Trophy, the prize for NHL's best goalkeeper, as the third Swede ever.
