X, which is owned by entrepreneur Elon Musk, is withdrawing all personnel "with immediate effect", but says that access to X in Brazil will function as usual.
The origin of the dispute is, according to X, that Judge Alexandre de Moraes allegedly threatened to detain the company's lawyer if X does not meet certain requirements.
The judge and company X have previously been on a collision course on issues related to freedom of speech, accounts belonging to right-wing extremist groups, and disinformation.
