Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyj is not worried about Donald Trump being elected as the USA's president in November.

The majority of Republicans support Ukraine, he says.

A victory for Trump in the election could lead to question marks about Washington's continued support for Ukraine, during the third year of the Russian invasion.

I believe we will cooperate if Donald Trump becomes president. I am not worried about it, says Zelenskyj during a press conference in Kiev.

The Republican presidential candidate has said that he would quickly end the war if he became president again. This is feared in Kiev to mean that they would be forced to negotiate with Moscow from a weakened position.

Trump recently said in a debate with President Joe Biden that he would have "resolved" the Ukraine conflict before January 2025 if he wins the election.

Zelenskyj says that during his recent trip to the USA, he met Republican governors and was assured of the party's support.

There are hawks whose message is more right-wing and more radical, said Zelenskyj to the press.

But the majority of Republicans support Ukraine and the Ukrainian people.

Volodymyr Zelenskyj believes that Russia should attend the next peace summit, which will be a follow-up to the meeting in Switzerland in June.

I think that representatives from Russia should be present at the second summit, said Zelenskyj at the press conference, where he presented plans for a follow-up summit.
