04:13 An alarm is received about a smell of smoke and a blaring fire alarm in a multi-family house in Gottfridsberg, Linköping. The rescue service determines that it is a fire and breaks in to put it out.

The fire has started in the basement and can be extinguished. The residents of the building can return to their apartments.

The on-duty investigator decides to initiate an investigation into suspected arson to investigate what caused the fire. The basement where the fire occurred is cordoned off pending a technical investigation to be conducted on Saturday.

01:03 At the travel center in Motala, a person triggers an alarm on a train with advanced measuring equipment standing still on the platform. There are several cameras in the area, and the caller can provide a good description of the man who was caught on film when he tried to break into the train and also caused some damage to its technical equipment.

The man, who is in his 40s, is found and arrested for attempted theft through burglary. The man is also suspected of theft, alternatively, receiving stolen goods, as some other stolen goods, including a bicycle, are found. He is detained during the night.
