The incident was first noticed by Svenska Dagbladet.
"We, together with the members of ABBA, have discovered that videos have been released where ABBA's music has been used at Trump's events and have therefore requested that such use be immediately removed and discontinued,” writes Universal Music to SvD.
"Universal Music Publishing AB and Polar Music International AB have not received any request, so no permission or license has been given to Trump", the company writes further.
SvD was present at a Trump election rally in July in Saint Cloud, Minnesota, where over 8,000 Trump supporters, among other things, got to listen to ABBA's hit song "The Winner Takes It All".
This was followed by a over ten-minute-long video show featuring Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson, singing songs like "Money, Money, Money" and "Dancing Queen". The newspaper describes the Trump crowd in the Swedish-descended state as "ecstatic".
ABBA is now joining a long list of artists and bands demanding that Donald Trump stop using their music publicly. Rolling Stones, Céline Dion, Bruce Springsteen, Rihanna, and Neil Young are among those who have previously made similar demands.
