"Couples in the new 'Married at First Sight'"

New season of SVT's dating show offers news – this time the couples get married at a winter wedding and the program has got two new experts. One of the couples is same-sex, which has happened twice before in the program.

For Selma Kamali from Malmö, it was the hope of finding "the one" that made her apply.

I've always been a relationship person, but I hadn't found the right one and I was almost the only one who was single among those I know. It was a fun thing to test what happens if someone else chooses for me, she says.

I've always wanted to go on a blind date. So I felt that this was "the ultimate blind date".

"My opposite"

How good were the experts at finding the right match, do you think?

I think it was an interesting choice. I was basically paired with my opposite, you could say. So, I think the whole experience has been really fun, so do what you want with that information.

She describes the recording as extremely fun.

The team I had around me was really lovely. It was just fun all the way through and we got to do fun things, she says.

At the same time, the recording was tougher than she had expected.

I don't think I would have thought it was so fun if I hadn't done it with the right people. You get a completely different schedule during those weeks and I wasn't prepared for my life to look so different.

"Mass drama and tears"

Last spring, one of the female participants in the program chose to leave early since "boundaries were crossed" in the relationship. That season hadn't been broadcast when Selma was on, but she was well aware that it doesn't always end happily for the previous couples.

I've seen all the other seasons before and I think I knew what I was getting into. All contact I had with them (the production) felt good, and I knew that people sometimes leave and that I could too.
