A man in his 55-year-old is being prosecuted for grievous bodily harm after he accidentally shot his friend with a hunting rifle. The shot is said to have been fired in the kitchen, gone through two walls, and then hit the friend in the leg, according to Västerbotten-Kuriren.
The incident occurred late on the evening of January 13th this year in a municipality in Västerbotten's inland. A group of male friends had been out hunting birds and gathered in the evening at one of their villas.
When three of them stood and talked in a bedroom, one of the men suddenly fell to the floor in severe pain. A friend had accidentally fired his hunting rifle from the kitchen, a shot that went all the way into the bedroom and hit the man in the thigh.
The prosecutor believes that the man committed the offense through negligence and that the crime is to be considered severe as he is believed to have been intoxicated by alcohol.
