The Foreign Office summoned the Russian ambassador on Tuesday. The reason was to mark the Russian violation of Swedish airspace that took place on Friday, writes the Foreign Office in a press release.
It was on Friday afternoon that a Russian SU-24 aircraft flew five kilometres into Swedish airspace east of the southern tip of Gotland. Two Gripen aircraft took off to intercept the Russian plane. The violation lasted for approximately two minutes.
