In Khan Yunis in southern Gaza, Nasser Hospital received nine bodies, including a woman and a child. al-Aqsa Hospital in Dayr al-Balah received eight dead bodies. This is according to hospital staff and reporters from the AP news agency, who counted the bodies.
On Thursday morning, eleven people were reported killed in an attack in Beit Lahiya in northern Gaza, according to the Palestinian news agency Wafa. And on the West Bank, three people died in an Israeli attack, according to the Hamas-controlled health department.
Unsafe Areas
Wednesday's attacks in Dayr al-Balah were carried out after the Israeli military ordered Palestinians in certain parts of the city to evacuate. The UN's humanitarian office warns that Israel's mass evacuation order is forcing Palestinians into unsafe and overcrowded areas.
The orders issued on Wednesday for parts of Khan Yunis and Dayr al-Balah affect 115 different locations with more than 150,000 people, according to Stéphane Dujarric, spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General.
They also affect a number of offices and warehouses belonging to aid organizations, as well as three water wells, which supply tens of thousands of people with water.
Mass Exodus
In Dayr al-Balah, the water supply has decreased by 70 percent. There is also a critical shortage of sanitation products, says Stéphane Dujarric.
According to the UN spokesperson, Israel has so far in August issued eleven evacuation orders affecting around 250,000 people. The UN estimates that about 90 percent of Gaza's 2.1 million inhabitants had already been forced to leave their homes at least once since the war began on October 7.
