Edwards was arrested in November last year and charged in June this year. BBC has been criticized for continuing to pay the program host's salary and not firing him despite knowing about the allegations of child pornography crimes for several months before they became public.
Already last year, Huw Edwards was suspended from his work at BBC after media reports that he had paid a young man for sexual images.
