The success in the French capital got the big brother and coach to quickly start looking for a trip and accommodation in Paris.

Then it was quick to get there. And luckily it was.

"Incredible match"

At the Olympic Games, little brother Truls Möregårdh presented a success that gave several degrees of table tennis fever in Sweden. With, among others, parents, brother, and girlfriend in the audience in the hall, the success only grew bigger and bigger.

Truls Möregårdh made it all the way to the final and got silver after 1–4 in the final against the Chinese Fan Zhendong.

Truls plays an incredibly good match. I'm really proud of how he plays and that he gets the match where he has to get it to have a chance, says Malte Möregårdh.

What do you say about the Olympic journey he has made?

It's incredible. It's history.

How is it to see this as a brother and coach?

It's double feelings. I'm so extremely proud of him and now I just want to hug him.

How do you celebrate this?

It will be a restaurant, but then he has to recharge again, because he plays against Denmark already at 10.00 am tomorrow (Monday).

Established

22-year-old Truls Möregårdh took World Championship silver in Houston 2021 – also then after losing to Zhendong – and has since established himself in the world top.

Although the Swede has dropped a bit in the world ranking, 26th, he hasn't gotten worse, says Malte Möregårdh.

He has had to meet these players in the first round in many tournaments and therefore hasn't gone so far and thus also lost ranking points, he says.

After Houston, he has maintained a top 20 level in the world.
