The EU Commission has given the green light for Swedish state aid to the steel company SSAB.

The aid is around 1.5 billion kronor and is intended to contribute to the state-owned company's investment in green steel.

The Commission writes that SSAB's investment is in line with the EU's climate goals of climate neutrality by 2050, but that the aid is not so large that it risks distorting competition.
