The mining company Boliden and the engineering company Atlas Copco were among the big winners among the most traded shares on OMXS30. Boliden closed at a plus of 3.2 percent and Atlas Copco closed at a plus of 2.1 percent. Saab had also risen by 2.1 percent at closing.

Telia's share, which is traded without the right to dividend, went against the trend and fell by 3.7 percent. The volatile real estate company SBB also lost heavily among the major companies, minus 5.2 percent.

The stock exchanges in London, Paris, and Frankfurt rose and were up at closing.

The US central bank will likely announce tonight that the interest rate will remain unchanged. But for the market, it is highly interesting how the reasoning goes regarding a possible interest rate cut in September.

After the closing on Wall Street, Facebook owner Meta will present its quarterly report.
