The Sweden Democrats are critical of the Tidö colleagues who voted in favour of the disputed "chat control" proposal.

I think it's dishonest, says Adam Marttinen (SD) who sits on the Justice Committee.

The Justice Committee voted in favour of the proposal on Tuesday, the purpose of which is to prevent child abuse – but which has been criticised for far-reaching infringements on personal integrity.

The Sweden Democrats, who voted against, are now sharply critical of the other Tidö parties for approving the proposal.

They accept the Belgian compromise proposal which includes the possibility of breaking encryption, says SD member Adam Marttinen.

In the revised proposal put forward by Belgium, images can be checked before they are encrypted. Adam Marttinen calls it a "backdoor".

They want to claim that they're not breaking any encryption and can say in a micro perspective that they're not doing it. But the overall effect is exactly the same, he says.

According to Marttinen, both the Moderate Party and the Liberals indicated during the election campaign that they would not proceed with chat control.

I think that's dishonest to the voters, he says.
