The Göta Court of Appeal upholds the verdict of the Eksjö District Court, where three men were sentenced to life imprisonment for murdering a man and then setting fire to his residence in Tranås, reports P4 Jönköping.
It was early on an October morning last year that the rescue services were alerted to a fire in an apartment building in Tranås. Smoke divers found the deceased man inside the apartment. The man had been subjected to severe and repeated violence before the fire.
The Court of Appeal notes that the man was subjected to indescribable suffering, reports the radio.
The men are sentenced to life imprisonment for murder and aggravated arson.
Two of the men are in their 35s and the third is in his 20s. The two older men deny any wrongdoing. The younger man has confessed to aiding and abetting assault.
