The Government Offices are being allocated 300 million kronor next year in the government's budget proposal.

This is so that the Government Offices can, among other things, "handle a larger amount of reports to be translated into legislation", according to the budget proposal. 200 million kronor will also be allocated to security-enhancing measures.

With the tougher penalties and regulations we have introduced to combat crime, resources, investigations, and other measures are also required to implement the policy we want to pursue, says Finance Minister Elisabeth Svantesson (M) to Altinget.

The allocation corresponds to an increase of nearly 30 percent, approximately 2.5 billion kronor, by 2027 compared to when the government took office, according to the newspaper.

The opposition is highly critical, and the Social Democrats' economic policy spokesperson Mikael Damberg (S) calls the increase "provocative" when ordinary people are struggling to make ends meet.
