About 1,500 police officers were on site during the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö – at a cost of at least 22 million kronor.

Half of the police officers were borrowed from other police regions and 50 of them came from Norway and Denmark. The deployment was one of the largest for Swedish police ever, according to Sveriges Radio's Ekoredaktion.

Commander-in-Chief Per Engström has handed over an evaluation to Justice Minister Gunnar Strömmer (M) and notes that the final bill will be even slightly higher when it's all tallied.

According to Engström, this is a relatively lower cost than at many other events, which could be achieved with long-term planning and personnel planning.
