According to Financial Times, the man and four other people accused the late Michael Jackson of inappropriate behavior towards them in their childhood. When they brought the accusations in 2019, the estate paid out almost 20 million dollars (203 million kronor) in a secret settlement to the five individuals the following year.

Now, one of them has tried to blackmail the estate for 213 million dollars (almost 2.2 billion Swedish kronor) in a new settlement to not reveal the extent of the accusations. But Jackson's relatives have stood firm and instead filed a lawsuit, demanding that the former employee drop their blackmail attempts, honor the 2020 settlement, and be prohibited from disclosing what the accusations are about.

Michael Jackson's relatives and estate are simultaneously working on a film adaptation of the star's life. A film that they hope will shed new light on the accusations of sexual abuse against children brought forward, among other things, in the documentary "Leaving Neverland" from 2019, writes Financial Times.
