In late July, it was reported that the fiber network had been sabotaged in several departments in France, including the city of Vincennes, just east of Paris. The mishap affected an area where people had gathered to watch the Olympic Games on a large screen.
After reviewing surveillance footage from Vincennes, investigators have been able to identify who was behind it, French media reports: A weasel.
"After analyzing the cables and video surveillance, it appears that a weasel is behind it", writes the Paris prosecutor's office in a press release, and adds that the investigation is being dropped.
