Gets the gold lane in the final: "It's going to be good"

Sweden made it to the final on 4x100 meter medley with sixth time. It means that Sweden gets lane seven in Sunday evening's final. I've heard that it's going to be good, many Olympic Games gold medals have been won on it, says Louise Hansson with a twinkle in her eye.

Just lane seven was the lane that Sarah Sjöström had in the Olympic Games gold success on 100 meters freestyle on Wednesday.

Backstroke swimmer Hanna Rosvall set a personal record for the second day in a row on the starting stretch with a time of 1.00,16.

It was an improvement by a hundredth. In the mixed relay on Friday, she lowered it by 29 hundredths.

Now she hopes to go under a minute.

It would have been so cool to do it in the final. I'll leave everything in that pool tomorrow, she says.

Sophie Hansson continues to struggle in the breaststroke and was 1.6 seconds over her personal record despite a flying start. She had a time of 1.07,24 on the stretch.

I didn't get the time out of my body that I have. Not now either. It's frustrating. But I have 24 hours to recharge, says Sophie Hansson, who celebrated her 26th birthday on Friday.

After the breaststroke, Sweden was seventh in its heat. Louise Hansson (56,62/butterfly) and Sarah Sjöström (53,31/freestyle) took up two places for the Swedish women.

Then Italy was disqualified and Sweden became fourth in the heat and sixth overall with a time of 3.57,33.

Reigning Olympic Games and World Championship champion Australia was the fastest with a time of 3.54,81, ahead of Canada and China.

The Swedish women were 99 hundredths away from third place.

Sweden finished fifth in the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2021 and in the World Championship 2023.

In this year's World Championship in Doha, it was silver, but then the top competitors were missing their best swimmers.
