After just 25 minutes, the Olympic Games were over for the national handball team's Sofia Hvenfelt due to a knee injury.

I'm okay, there have been a lot of different emotions and thoughts, says the 28-year-old.

The German professional met Swedish journalists for the first time after the injury in the Olympic Games premiere, the sensational win with 32–28 over Norway on Thursday.

It was in that match that Hvenfelt injured her knee so badly that her first Olympic Games are already over.

A stretched ligament stops the midfielder who is hobbling around on crutches.

Hvenfelt has reconciled herself with the situation over the past few days and is trying to see the positive.

I'm quite grateful that it's not worse than it is, I'm trying to see it as that I got to be part of the Olympic Games and got those 25 minutes, says Hvenfelt, who normally plays in German Bietigheim.

She has been given a protective brace around her right knee that she will have to wear for eight to twelve weeks.

Then we'll see how the knee reacts and how far along we are after that, she says.

She will be leaving the Olympic Village in the coming days and is set to follow the national team on TV.

I really think I'll do that. At the same time, I'm quite humble about how I'll react. This will be the first match where I'm not involved, we'll see how it feels, she says an hour before Sweden's second Olympic Games match against Germany.

Olivia Löfqvist, Storhamar, has been called in as a replacement for Sofia Hvenfelt.
