Ingebrigtsen cryptic about the rumors: "We'll see"

The day before the Diamond League gala in Brussels, Jakob Ingebrigtsen was hot game. But the journalists were not primarily interested in his 1,500-meter race. Instead, about the Copenhagen rumors.

The Norwegian running star is in top form and recently pulverized the world record on 3,000 meters. On Friday, he will run 1,500 meters as part of a star-studded starting field.

I'm set on winning, says Ingebrigtsen at Thursday's press conference before the race, according to VG.

But most of the questions today are not about Friday's gala, but about the Copenhagen half-marathon. Rumors suggest that Ingebrigtsen will participate, which would be his debut on the distance. Previously, he has never run a race longer than 10 kilometers on the road, and that was five years ago.

And the 23-year-old does not deny the reports.

I don't have a flight ticket home. But first and foremost, I'll run here tomorrow. And if it goes fantastically well, we'll see what happens, says Ingebrigtsen to NRK.

The Norwegian TV channel has secured the rights to Sunday's race. But when asked if he will run the half-marathon, the Norwegian answers evasively.

I don't know. First and foremost, I'll run 1,500, and then we'll see if something else happens afterwards.

If the rumors are true, Ingebrigtsen likely has fast times in sight. For comparison, Sweden's Andreas Almgren crushed the Swedish record in his half-marathon debut in February, running on 59.22.

Many believe that Ingebrigtsen has at least equally fast times in his body. The Norwegian record, held by Sondre Nordstad Moen, stands at 59.48.
