When Klæbo was asked about Therese Johaug's comeback ahead of the World Championship during a digital press conference, he replied jokingly:
First and foremost, I'm glad she's not competing in the men's class. For the sake of skiing, it's great that she's coming back, she's a well-known profile. So it's positive and delightful, and there's no doubt she'll be fast.
Klæbo himself spent the summer on his own in Utah, USA, preparing for the skiing season, and not least for the World Championship on home turf in Trondheim.
It's not the first time he's been in the USA for training. He previously trained in Utah with, among others, Maja Dahlqvist in 2023. He summarizes this training stint in the USA as a perfect buildup.
I've trained well and according to plan. The USA is clearly the best alternative for training. I live at an altitude of 2,200 meters and can train right outside my door. I don't need to go anywhere, I can do everything from here. It's absolutely perfect. But it'll be nice to get home, he says during a digital press conference.
Earlier in Johannes Høsflot Klæbo's career, his relationship with the Norwegian national team has been marked by conflicts and disagreements. However, he now believes the relationship is good.
The status is good, and I'm really enjoying myself in the team. It'll be fun to get home now and train with the team during the fall, I'm looking forward to that, to get a feel for the level ahead of the season. I'm glad to be part of it.
